Cherie Roessler

Teacher

Cherie has been involved in the theatre world for almost thirty years. She holds a Diploma of Arts, Small Companies and Community Theatre, as well as a Bachelor of Arts, Theatre Performance, from the Arts Academy, Ballarat.
As well as utilising her arts and drama skills whilst a kindergarten teacher,  Cherie has worked at The Courthouse Youth Arts Centre (now Platform Arts) as youth arts officer, director and performer, as well as hosting outreach programs in schools. She continued her love of outreach with Footscray Community Arts, creating full scale productions in both High schools and Primary schools. She found it thrilling to see the growth and learning that occurred, while introducing young people to the magic of theatre.
Cherie has also acted in and directed local theatre productions, toured various productions around Australia and participated in films and advertising. She was a long-standing member of Ozact, so you may have seen her in the great outdoors, in one of her many Shakespearean roles. Cherie is also a painter, jewellery designer and mum to one little rockstar.
